It is my great pleasure and privilege to welcome you to the official website of the Oja Rakiyatu Agnes Ubimago Foundation (ORAU).
The Foundation was established out of a deep passion and commitment to improving the lives of women, children and vulnerable members of society, particularly those who face difficult circumstances, disabilities, poverty and limited access to opportunities.
At ORAU, we believe that every woman and every child deserves dignity, care, opportunity and the chance to fulfil their potential. Our work is therefore focused on reaching those who need support the most and creating practical pathways towards a better and more sustainable future.
Our principal areas of intervention include the welfare and development of women and children, support for vulnerable children, assistance and inclusion for children living with disabilities, women empowerment, skills acquisition and educational scholarships.
Through our women empowerment initiatives, we seek to equip women with the knowledge, skills, resources and confidence they need to become economically independent and contribute meaningfully to their families and communities. Through our skills acquisition programmes, we provide opportunities for individuals to learn practical and sustainable skills that can improve their livelihoods and create pathways to self-reliance.
We are equally committed to supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged children, ensuring that their circumstances do not prevent them from accessing education, care, protection and opportunities for personal development. We particularly recognise the needs of children living with disabilities and advocate for an inclusive society where every child is valued, respected and given the opportunity to thrive.
Education remains one of the most powerful tools for transforming lives. Through our scholarship initiatives, ORAU seeks to support deserving children and young people whose educational aspirations may otherwise be limited by financial challenges.
Our vision extends beyond providing immediate assistance. We aspire to empower people to become self-reliant, strengthen families, promote inclusion and contribute to stronger communities. We believe that sustainable change is achieved when people are not only supported, but also given the tools and opportunities to build better lives for themselves.
I warmly invite individuals, organisations, government institutions, development partners, philanthropists and well-meaning members of the public to join us in this important mission.
